Auto Edit Scene is a powerful automation that allows you to automatically edit your footage per scene. However, in order to use this automation, you need to first use two other automations: Add Auto Edit Marker and Add Scene Marker.
Add Auto Edit Marker lets you add an Auto Edit Marker at any location of your choice. This marker is used to divide your footage into different scenes. For example, if you’re editing a wedding video, you might want to keep the footage of the bride separate from the footage of the groom. By adding Auto Edit Marker 1 to the footage of the bride and Auto Edit Marker 2 to the footage of the groom, you can easily separate the two scenes.
Add Scene Marker, on the other hand, lets you divide your timeline into different scenes by adding a Scene Marker at the player. This automation is used in conjunction with the Auto Edit Markers and Beat Detection automations to automatically edit your footage based on scenes.
Once you’ve added Auto Edit Markers and Scene Markers, you can use the Auto Edit Scene automation to automatically edit your footage per scene. This automation detects which clips are associated with the selected scene and shuffles them if necessary.
The Auto Edit Scene automation takes two arguments:
- Scene Nr: This argument is used to denote the scene number. You can have an unlimited number of scenes.
- Shuffle: This argument determines whether to shuffle the clips within this scene. If set to “True”, the automation will randomly shuffle the clips within the scene to create a more dynamic edit. If set to “False”, the clips will be arranged in the order they were originally placed on the timeline.
Add Auto Edit Marker takes the following arguments:
- Color: The color of the marker.
- Where: Specifies where to insert the marker. You can choose between “At player” and “At start of selected clips”. If you choose “At player”, the marker will be inserted at the current position of the playhead. If you choose “At start of selected clips”, the marker will be inserted at the start of any selected clips.
- Marker Nr: This argument is used to denote the scene number. You can have an unlimited number of scenes, so you can assign any number to the marker.
Add Scene Marker takes the following arguments:
- Color: The color of the marker.
- Scene Nr: This argument is used to denote the scene number. You can have an unlimited number of scenes, so you can assign any number to the marker.
